I left California with the devastation of Hurricane Katrina fresh on my
mind, little did I know how much more was on the way. The poorest
state in Mexico is Chiapas, that is where most of the destruction, loss
of families, homes, livelyhoods and the like took place. Words can't
discribe what was shown repeatedly on the news, you all have a good
perspective in the light of Katrina but it still just blows me away how
fragile and vulnerable we all are. For the last 4 weeks here at Rhema
we have partnered up with various churhes and given a helping hand
to those in the wake of the past two Storms. Cash, Clothes, Food, Care
Packages, Survival kits (Batteries etc.) and lots of Prayer have been
collected and centralized at one of the local Faith Christian Centers.
It has been a joy to serve, I made quite a few trips with David Diaz in
the Church Van. The Church Van, wow a few years ago I would have
never placed myself driving an oversized white van filled with the
needs of others. God does work miracles in peoples hearts.
Below you will see pictures of some of the people involved, I wish I
would have more pictures, but people kept telling me to quit messing
around ( somethings don't change) The neighborhood that the collection
center was located in was a bit dicey, oh well. Even in the poor
neighborhoods people were ready to give.
